Nainital: Place for hill tourism




Nainital is located in the foothills of the Kumaon region in Uttarakhand. The town is surrounded by three significant mountains, Mount Naina, Mount Deopatha and Mount Ayarpatha. The name of the town Nainital means ‘lake of the eye’; in literal terms viz ‘naina’ means ‘eye’ and ‘tal’ meaning ‘lake’. This hill station is one of the best hill stations of North India and was once the summer retreat for the British. Therefore, moving around Nainital om foot is the best option for tourists.
